i WaNnA SoAk uP tHe SuN....

Last weekend the sun was out in full force with no clouds in sight, so Jon and I headed over to English Bay (near Stanley Park) to have a few drinks and chill out by the beach.  We jumped in the Pilot and a five minute drive later we were at the water's edge!  LOVE this city!!!

We sat on the patio at Milestone's Bar & Grill and enjoyed a few cold beers, some good conversation and a gorgeous view.   

Here was the view from the patio...looking out over the water and the mountains in the distance.  Too beautiful!

After a few hours on the patio we headed across the street to the beach to kick back and soak up some rays.  It was beyond a perfect day and we enjoyed relaxing and people watching for the rest of the afternoon.  There was even a band that set up along the street and played a few songs.  We had an awesome time!

After some good tunes from the band we called it a day and headed back to the apartment.  We continue to enjoy Vancouver with all the pretty sights and beautiful weather she has to offer!  We are looking forward to the summer and many more beach outings to come.  =)

Our First Visitors

This weekend we had our first out-of-town visitors stay with us.  Jon's best friend and best man in our wedding, Josh and his girlfriend Marie came in town and we had a fun and busy weekend! 

On Friday we headed down to Granville Island to have a few drinks and lunch out on the paito in the sunshine!  It was a gorgeous day and we walked around the little shops on Granville after lunch.  We headed to dinner later that night at the Italian Kitchen.  After a great meal and good wine we headed downtown for some music and dancing!  It was a fun-filled day to say the least!

On Saturday, Marie and I went shopping while Jon and Josh went to coach a flag football game.  After a lot of walking and talking (but unfortunately no purchasing) we ended up on a patio enjoying a few Ceasars and soaking up the sunshine.  Once the boys got back downtown we went to dinner, joined by Jon's roommate Sean and his girlfriend Andrea, at Kalypso for some Greek food and sat on yet another patio and enjoyed good company and a yummy meal!  After dinner we headed back to the apartment, chilled out, and enjoyed some Rock Band tunes from the boys...sometimes I think they may be REAL rockstars...Haha!

On Sunday morning, Marie got up SUPER early to run the BMO Vancouver Half Marathon!!!  She did awesome and we greeted her at the finish line in the rain.  

Our weekend wasn't quite over though....Josh and Marie flew out on Sunday evening but Jon and I headed over to Granville Island to get on a boat for a little boat party!  We headed out for 5 hours on the ocean with Sean and Andrea and a few other friends and had a great time!  The only thing that would have made the cruise perfect is if it wasn't raining the whole time.  Oh well...it was still a fun time and here are a few pics from the boat!

After all the events of the weekend we were exhausted and crashed hard on Sunday night!  We had so much fun shopping, eating, dancing and partying with Josh and Marie and hope to have many more house guests soon!  =)
